The Mississippi State women’s golf team secured a 10th-place finish at the Chevron Collegiate, recording a score of 10-over par. Samantha Whateley led the team with a strong performance, finishing tied for 11th at 2-under par, while Ines Belchior also had a notable showing, tying for 20th at even par. Looking ahead, the Bulldogs will compete again on March 16 in Aiken, South Carolina for the Old Barnwell Match Play.

Humble, Texas – The Mississippi State women’s golf team achieved a 10th-place finish at the Chevron Collegiate with a score of 10-over par, improving one position in the final round.

Samantha Whateley led the Bulldogs with a performance that placed her tied for 11th at 2-under par. In the final round, she recorded a team-high four birdies, marking her third under-par tournament this season. This achievement is the most in a single season of her career and the second-most among Bulldogs this season. Whateley has accumulated 23 rounds of par or better throughout her career, standing just three rounds away from tying for the 10th-most in the program’s history.

Ines Belchior also delivered a notable performance, finishing tied for 20th at even par. She completed all three rounds of the Chevron Collegiate at even par, totaling nine rounds of par or better in her freshman season, which ranks as the seventh-most among any Bulldog freshman in program history.

The Bulldogs are set to return to competition on March 16, when they will travel to Aiken, South Carolina, for the Old Barnwell Match Play, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
