The incident reportedly began when she was involved in a car accident, having struck the back of a semi-truck. Following the crash, she exited her vehicle armed with a handgun and sat on the southbound lanes of I-45 in a foldable chair, prompting law enforcement to be called to the scene.

The situation lasted until about 6:30 p.m. when the woman surrendered to law enforcement without any injuries or the use of force. Traffic on I-45 gradually began to reopen soon after the standoff resolved.
