Houston, July 29, 2025
Hotel Saint Augustine in Houston has joined the World of Hyatt rewards program, following the acquisition of its parent company by Hyatt. This addition enhances the hotel’s offerings to World of Hyatt members, providing unique benefits and experiences. The hotel features 71 uniquely designed rooms in Montrose’s Museum District and a dining establishment, Perseid, renowned for its cuisine. Additionally, the partnership anticipates future expansions as other Bunkhouse properties may join the program. The news reflects a positive development for both the hotel and its guests.
Houston’s Hotel Saint Augustine, the only Bunkhouse property in the city, has recently joined the World of Hyatt rewards program. This exciting news follows the acquisition of Standard International, Bunkhouse’s parent company, by Hyatt in 2024. The hotel is now one of two fully incorporated Bunkhouse properties in the program, along with Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin. The lineup will soon expand to include the upcoming Hotel Daphne in Houston, set to open in the fall of 2025, though a timeline for additional Bunkhouse properties to join the program remains unclear.
World of Hyatt members can now enjoy various benefits while staying at participating Bunkhouse Hotels, which aim to provide memorable experiences through authentic designs, locally driven programming, and community-centric gatherings. Hotel Saint Augustine features 71 uniquely designed rooms across five small buildings nestled in the Montrose’s Museum District. Designed by the Texas firm Lake|Flato, the hotel incorporates a residential aesthetic characterized by open-air bridges and landscaped courtyards.
The lobby provides a home-like feel, featuring a reception desk made from Calacatta Viola marble, further enhancing the inviting atmosphere. Also, Hotel Saint Augustine boasts an all-day restaurant named Perseid, an event space, and a listening room stocked with vinyl records. Chef Aaron Bludorn, who has been nominated for a James Beard Award, curates the culinary offerings at Perseid, drawing inspiration from Gulf Coast and French cuisines. Each guest room is intelligently crafted, offering unique furnishings that create a calming and luxurious ambiance.
In another cultural highlight for Houston, the Game of Thrones: The Exhibition is set to open at the Arlington Museum of Art on October 4, 2025. Working in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and the production archives team of Game of Thrones, this exhibition will showcase over 60 costumes from all eight seasons of the celebrated HBO series. Visitors can expect to see iconic pieces, including gowns worn by Daenerys Targaryen and gear used by Jon Snow.
The exhibition also aims to deliver behind-the-scenes insights, images, and design sketches, celebrating the remarkable work of the show’s award-winning costume designer and its production artisans. Running from October 4, 2025, to April 5, 2026, this exhibition is suitable for all ages, and tickets are set to go on sale on August 1, 2025, priced at $25. Advance reservations are recommended due to expected high demand.
The Arlington Museum of Art, where this exclusive exhibition will take place, is positioned conveniently between Dallas and Fort Worth, in close proximity to AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field. The museum has previously hosted other pop culture exhibitions, including displays of Disney costumes and images related to Princess Diana.
The incorporation of Hotel Saint Augustine into the World of Hyatt rewards program marks a significant development for both the hotel and its guests. Meanwhile, the upcoming Game of Thrones exhibition promises to attract fans and art lovers alike, further enriching Houston’s cultural landscape.
