At the helm of Kirkwood’s kitchen will be Stephen Chiang, a Houston native who previously showcased his culinary talents in New York City. Chiang has experience working at renowned restaurants such as Del Posto and Lafayette, as well as local favorites like the Blind Goat, Saigon Hustle, and Relish. The menu will feature “elevated American classics,” offering a variety of options including seafood platters, steaks, salads, and exquisite desserts.

The design process of the 5,500-square-foot space has been executed by Gin Design Group. The interior will incorporate rich leathers, dark woods, and a striking copper-covered open kitchen, alongside artwork inspired by the Astrodome. Kirkwood will have the capacity to seat over 150 customers and will feature private event spaces along with a sunroom that includes a cozy fireplace.

Joseph Kubicki, chief operating officer of Mac Haik, emphasizes that Kirkwood’s unique concept aims to strengthen ties with the Houston community. The establishment is a part of the Energy Plaza campus, which encompasses 1.3 million square feet of office space, as well as a Hilton Embassy Suites hotel.

The Energy Corridor is experiencing a surge in restaurant openings, extending seven miles along the Katy Freeway from Kirkwood Road to Barker Cypress Road. This uptick in the dining options reflects the area’s growing appeal as a vibrant destination for both residents and professionals.
