New York City – Danny Parkins has officially joined FS1’s First Things First as part of a significant expansion that will see the popular sports talk show extending its broadcast from two to three hours. The revamped program will now air daily from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET, featuring Parkins alongside fellow co-hosts Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes. This addition is part of a broader strategy by FS1 to refresh its programming lineup.
Parkins will participate in the newly introduced third hour of First Things First, a segment that aims to enhance engagement with viewers during crucial afternoon hours. The show will continue to include regular contributors such as Eric Mangini and Greg Jennings, ensuring that fans receive a mix of insights and opinions from multiple sports experts.
The expansion of First Things First comes on the heels of FS1’s recent cancellation of several programs, including Breakfast Ball, The Facility, and Speak. These changes are part of an overall lineup overhaul that FS1 initiated to improve its content offerings and compete more effectively in the crowded sports media landscape.
Prior to his new role, Parkins co-hosted Breakfast Ball on FS1 alongside Craig Carton and Mark Schlereth. He is also a familiar voice in Chicago, having hosted the afternoon drive show on 670 The Score. During his time in Chicago, Parkins developed a strong following thanks to his engaging commentary and sharp insights into the sports world. Moreover, he has a history with Nick Wright, having formed a friendship while they were both students at Syracuse University, which adds a personal dynamic to their professional collaboration.
In addition to the changes at First Things First, FS1’s programming has undergone a significant restructuring. A new morning program from Barstool Sports will debut, airing live from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM ET, with a replay set to air until noon. This will lead into The Herd with Colin Cowherd, aiming to capture the morning sports audience and keep momentum throughout the day.
