Houston Dynamo players proudly wear flood relief jerseys during a match, showcasing community spirit.
Houston Dynamo FC is honoring victims of the Central Texas floods by wearing special jersey patches during home matches. The match-worn jerseys will be auctioned to benefit flood relief efforts. Additionally, the team will host a raffle and sell commemorative shirts, directing all proceeds to assist affected communities. The club recently collaborated with Austin FC and FC Dallas to donate $500,000 for disaster relief, showcasing the resilience and support of the community during this challenging time.
Houston Dynamo FC will honor the lives lost in the recent Central Texas floods by wearing special jersey patches during their next two home matches. These match-worn jerseys will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting flood relief efforts aimed at assisting affected communities.
As part of their support, Dynamo players will don the commemorative jerseys during matches held in July. All funds raised from the auction will provide both immediate and long-term assistance to those impacted by the flooding. Additionally, shirts designed specifically for this effort will be available for purchase at the stadium’s Team Store as well as on MLSStore.com starting Friday, July 18. Like the auction, 100 percent of the proceeds from these shirt sales will also go towards flood relief initiatives.
The club is further encouraging support through an in-stadium 50/50 Raffle on match nights throughout July. All earnings from this raffle will be directed entirely to flood relief programs.
Last week, the Houston Dynamo collaborated with Austin FC, FC Dallas, and Major League Soccer to make a significant donation of $500,000 for disaster relief. These funds aim to address both the immediate needs following the disaster and the long-term trauma care for survivors of the floods.
The devastation wreaked by the recent flooding in Central Texas has drawn widespread concern across the region. The FC Dallas Chairman and CEO expressed condolences and acknowledged the significant impacts on the local communities. He emphasized the resilience of the community and the outpouring of support from volunteers aiding those in need.
FC Dallas President reiterated the club’s solidarity with those affected, confirming ongoing efforts to assist flood victims. Major League Soccer has also shown its support, expressing condolences while reiterating a commitment to aid the impacted communities.
For those looking to contribute further to the flood relief efforts, community resources such as the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and the Red Cross Texas have been established to provide additional support. These organizations play a crucial role in the ongoing recovery for individuals and families impacted by the floods.
Further information regarding the special jersey initiative and other charity efforts will be released ahead of the match scheduled for Wednesday night. The Houston Dynamo and the broader soccer community continue to demonstrate support and commitment towards relief efforts as Central Texas navigates its recovery.
