Houston – A Harris County deputy was injured in a crash involving an e-bike in downtown Houston on Sunday night around 9 p.m. The deputy, who remains unidentified, was off duty at the time and riding an e-bike or dirt bike when the accident occurred.
According to preliminary reports, the incident took place at an intersection on W Dallas Street. The deputy was making a left turn when another vehicle allegedly cut him off. Details about the vehicle that caused the accident have not been provided, nor has the vehicle’s occupant been identified. Following the collision, the deputy lost control of the bike and crashed to the ground.
Immediately after the crash, several Good Samaritans who were nearby rushed to aid the injured deputy. They helped to lift the bike off him before a tow truck arrived on the scene. Although the deputy was conscious after the accident, he sustained injuries and was subsequently transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for medical treatment.
