The event celebrated the organization’s 45th Anniversary and acknowledged its multi-generational impact on families. Co-chairs of the luncheon included Will and Barb Noel, alongside their daughters Kathleen Noel Camp, Laura Noel Borland, and Sharon Noel Griffin, all of whom have been involved with the organization since its inception. In recognition of his 30 years of dedicated service, longtime supporter Ben Andrews was awarded the Neuhaus Lifetime Trustee designation. Additionally, keynote speaker Elsa Cárdenas-Hagan highlighted the organization’s influence in Brownsville, Texas.
Meanwhile, the Christian Community Service Center’s 28th annual Azalea Gala saw participation from 675 attendees and raised over $835,000 for essential social service programs. Laura and Rev. Russell Levenson were honored during the event for their unwavering partnership in combating poverty.
The Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA) launched its young professional group at the “Polo for a Purpose” event, commemorating 45 years of support for victims. The festivities included a champagne divot stomp and live music, organized by chairs Janine Galt, Clara Orlean, and Laurel Wheatley.
The Broach Foundation’s “Stand Up for Brain Cancer” gala, held at the River Oaks Country Club, featured comedian Mike Birbiglia and gathered 450 guests. This fundraiser has successfully raised over $6.5 million for brain cancer research since its launch.

At the Houston Hospice Butterfly Luncheon, author Alua Arthur shared insights into life and death, while honoring volunteers including Josepha O’Brien, Patti Roades, Pat Mosier, and Norma Echegoyen-Lima. Additionally, the Children at Risk dinner raised $360,000 to address child poverty and inequality, drawing in 430 participants. Bob Sanborn discussed possible solutions to tackle pressing social issues affecting children during the event.
